I’m an initiative by TabuTabu, and I love dismantling the taboos around all things sex and sexuality.
My passion is making all people who identify as women see that their bodies are amazing, that their pleasure and desires are worthy of respect, and that they deserve to live out their sexuality and relationships respectfully, consentingly, and in health.
That is why I'm committed both to sharing relevant and accurate information about sexual and reproductive health and rights with my friends, and to building a network of products and services that they can access to live healthier and more pleasure-filled lives.

I share my tailor-made content to my friends through WhatsApp groups: my bite-sized videos are easy to follow, share practical recommendations and inspire reflection. You will be able to watch them as many times as you want, and any time you want, from within WhatsApp, without consuming any data, and share them with friends and family outside of the group.
LEARN ABOUT YOUR BODY, YOUR PLEASURE AND YOUR SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND RIGHTS IN A SHAME-FREE AND PLEASURE-FOCUSED APPROACH.
My WhatsApp groups are safe spaces to learn together and exchange experiences, thoughts, reactions and reflections. All participants are made aware of the community guidelines, and can ask questions about sexuality in the group, or can also message me to ask a question privately.
BE IN COMMUNITY WITH MY OTHER FRIENDS, WHO, LIKE YOU, CAN SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCES, ASK QUESTIONS, AND SEE ANSWERS TO OTHER PEOPLE’S QUESTIONS
I am continuously working to grow a network of sexual health product and service providers that offer shame-free and pleasure-positive support for my friends. This network aims to be offer localized services so that you don’t have to go far to find what you are looking for. If I’m recommending it, it’s because it’s got the Ana Autoestima seal of approval!

Who is Ana Autoestima?Ana Autoestima is a virtual friend that makes accurate information about sexual and reproductive health and rights focused on sexual health and wellbeing for women in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). She aims to include all people who identify as women, although she promotes her services in favela communities across Rio, so as to reach those women who are furthest removed from sources of comprehensive sexuality education. Ana’s goal is to reach as many such women as possible with succinct and relevant information, and reduce the barriers to access between the information she shares and the friends (service users) she is sharing it with.

What does Ana Autoestima do?Ana Autoestima shares tailor-made sexuality education content with her friends on WhatsApp, and answers questions related to sexuality, sexual health and rights, pleasure, family planning, and beyond. The spaces Ana Autoestima holds are safe, shame-free, and sex- and pleasure-positive. Beyond sharing accurate and contextually-relevant sexuality information, Ana Autoestima is building a network of allies who offer related sexual and reproductive health and rights products and services. If/when Ana Autoestima’s friends reach out with queries or concerns beyond her remit, she is able to offer useful resources so her friends can seek the relevant assistance... just like a real friend would!

How does she do it?Ana takes a sex- and pleasure-positive approach in all conversations with her friends. Through this, she aims to flip the hyper-medicalized and sex-negative narrative they are used to when they try to access sexual health services, which they report often makes them feel judged, ignored, patronized and confused. (This, in turn, dissuades them from seeking the support and answers they need to make sexual and reproductive health decisions.) Ana’s friendly, shame-free and positive approach sets the stage for constructive, educational and open-minded conversations, inspiring her friends to explore their bodies, their decisions and their rights.

What is Ana Autoestima NOT?Ana Autoestima is not a robot - she is currently operated by real people who have a range of backgrounds, intersecting identities, and lenses on human sexuality (and on being human :) ). Ana Autoestima is also not a social worker, psychologist, advocate, or legal representative. If her friends reach out with queries beyond her remit, Ana aims to share relevant and accessible resources that will support them in the best way possible.
